I just love love love Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and the like. Free form, free flowing Jazz that just scribbles away in my ear, letting the left brain take care of the melody and the fingers take care of the creativity.
We just had a wonderful day, with our very close friends over for brunch. We ate, and talked, laughed, ate some more until we were all stuffed full. Cameras came out, photos were shared, and I had some gems of my family from Adrian to play with. It’s fun seeing something like that, your family from someone else’s point of view. And I love his work, so his point of view is always interesting.
So after they left, *skip* went to play Soccer, and I sat down, put the Miles Davis on, and let the mouse just flow over the screen. And here is what poured out of me. Joy, in scrapping form.
And one from last week that I didn’t get up here before as well.
I seem to be enjoying the vibrant colours at the moment. Isn’t it funny how we go through different stages with “art”. Soothing, black and whites, soft pastels, vibrant colours, textures and the like. It’s part of what I enjoy looking back through my collection of layouts, all the variety. Some of it is enforced, as most of my scrapping is to match a kit that I have from one of my special designers, however, even within those confines, there is freedom. As in Jazz. There is a structure they have to adhere to, but inside that framework, they are free to go crazy. All art has boundaries. For example, photographs. They are still images. We can alter them, blend them, blur them etc, but they are still an image. Music is still music.
All art is joy is what I am trying to say. And today I had so much joy. I just want to remember that feeling.
