Digital Scrapbooking – Creating Montages

posted in: Photography, scrapping, Tutorial | 1

You probably don’t know this, but for a few months (some years ago) I was contributing a column to the Australian Scrapbooking Memories magazine – their digital scrapbooking, or Click and Crop column.

I have to admit that sometimes fitting a tutorial into the 4 steps of text and illustrations that I had available was sometimes a challenge – I would love to have included some more detailed instructions.

I have decided that now the magazines are several years old, I can share some of my columns with you all!

First up out of the vault is this lovely layout where I covered creating Montages – a grouping of photos all in the same space. This is a great trick for framing photographs at home also – allows you put a series of photographs together in the one large frame – less effort to hang, and more impact to view!

And here’s the bonus layout I included in Step 4 where I used the same technique to create a fake “filmstrip” of photos…. which works really effectively with this more casual, outdoors vintage image.

You could also use this technique to make a collection of images for including in your next mixed media or art journalling project. It’s really versatile – let us know if you find other ways to use it!Happy Crafting - Cassie.
