Lots of little gifts

Quilty Sisters are the best sisters! Because we are all sisters, united by faith and quilting, we all love each other.

It’s been wonderful seeing all the different gifts, thoughtfully made, given and cherished, that have been zipping around the world with each block every month. I have been trying to get my skills up to speed with the others, and make things uniquely me as well.

Firstly, was Vanessa’s gift…Ā

A paper-pieced bee block, free pattern from Badskirt, which I stitched onto a pouch panel. Sadly I got my proportions wrong and the bee ended up sitting too low on the pouch, but he still looked fabulous. Of course, I was so excited to send this parcel off to Scotland, I completely forgot to take photos of the finished thing, so here is the photo I stole from Vanessa’s Instagram feed.

For July, I wanted something really personal to send to Fiona, who is a very close and dear friend to me. I settled on making her a little bag of love….

Free Braided Heart paper piecing pattern from Forest Quilting. Of course, her favourite colour is green, hence the green spotty lining. Plus I had to put a little “Bee” charm on the zip…. just for the fun of it.

Because I just can’t help myself, I added an extra present into her parcel….

A vintage Bible study book, with turned into a gorgeous notebook… with torn edge art paper, beautiful butterflies on the endpapers and a fresh green ribbon to boot. Of course, the cover is her favourite lime green.

I’m still madly crafting the goodies to go with September and October’s blocks, so you will have to stay tuned for those. I’m definitely excited to gift them though.

What about you? Do you have a go-to crafting gift? Does it vary with the recipient or is it a fabulous gift that everyone wants? Please share in the comments, I’m always looking for ideas!

So cool! I wish I could have joined the quilty sisters but I’ll have to save that for the future!
