Beautiful bee blocks for February

Quilting bees are the gift that just keeps on giving! As the #aussiemoderninstabee winds up to a close, a few final stray blocks have been arriving. Because I have no willpower, and will miss this bee, I said yes to a recently opened up spot in a facebook group, the QCA Stars bee. It’s a super easy commitment. 1 12 1/2″ unfinished paper pieced star block each month. Sweet!

Here is the block that I sent off to Carlie, Queen bee for February. It’s from Vintage Quilt Revival, which I reviewed last year.

I was so very excited to get a lovely Trellis Crossroads block in the post last week from Sylvia.

What was even more exciting though, was the gorgeous needlebook that she included as a present. Using tiny liberty lawn patchwork, it’s the softest sweetest little thing.

The front cover has little hearts fused and matchstick quilted, whilst the back cover is teeny little square patchwork pieces, including camels!

I just LOVE this interior fabric. My favourite colours!! The felt pages are just the perfect size, not too big so they get stretched and floppy, not so small that they aren’t useful.

If you’d like to make something similar, which is perfect for swaps and little gifts, there is a great tutorial at Nana Company (she makes the cutest little things!) I’ll be looking at making a couple myself for presents soon!
