Quilty sisters parcel for Carolyn

Who doesn’t love to get happy mail? I know that I do, and I love sending it too! I thought I’d share with you the parcel of love that I sent off to Carolyn as part of the #quiltysistersinstabee. I try to mix things up that I send each month, and there’s always a good idea for a new present to make.

First off, don’t you love how carefully I parcelled and wrapped it all up? Three different packages with goodies. Everything…. except her block!! Which I found hanging on my design wall 2 days later.

A Tula Pink Moonshine based block. Carolyn had posted out the white, teal and grey to keep her quilt consistent, and I loved his graduation of colours from the deer through to the aqua spot.

Continuing with the Tula theme, an adorable stuffed turtle named Tula May by Carolyn. She has a particular fondness for bees, so I loved making sure to catch as many on Tula May’s shell as possible, including a button on the top!

The other parts of the parcel included a vintage book journal, a matching Tula key fob and some more handstamped tags. I try to keep with a colour scheme to make things a bit more fun. Of course there was a stash of Australian chocolate, namely Tim-Tams popped in the parcel too before it winged it’s way across the globe.

If you would like to make your own turtle, the pattern is from Make It & Love It. She was the ideal adorable, whimsical addition for an overseas parcel, particularly when you are trying to keep the weight down.

What other gifts have you found great for swaps? Are you struggling for ideas? Would you be interested in a swap roundup page with some tutorials, links and inspiration?

The color scheme is a fun idea! You make lovely swap packages! I like to include a little washi tape or tiny pincushion, some fabric charms, or little stationary items.

Thanks Agnes! Those are great ideas for little additions that don’t necessarily weight or cost a lot!
