I am so excited to show you an actual real finished quilt. It’s just a fabulous feeling to hold something in your hands that was just an idea and a pile of fabric a few months ago.
I previously shared this quilt top with you as a fabulously easy and fast sew from my go-to pattern book, Beyond Neutral by John Q. Adams, and then listed it on my list of finishes for the third quarter, 2015. The fabric is a mix of Bluebird Park and Autumn woods, both designed by Kate & Birdie Paper Co, for Moda Fabrics.
It was quick to quilt up too, and I love the vintage sheet that I found for the back, the perfect match for the peachy colour/feel of the quilt. The final step was the binding and now it’s all ready for it’s first wash. I can’t wait to snuggle that crinkly quilty texture.
I quilted this beauty with a very appropriately named digital design, “Field of Flowers” because the shapes matched the fabric design so well, and softened all the straight lines of the patchwork.
Best of all, it’s an honest to goodness FINISH! I love that feeling!
What’s your favourite stage of the quilting process? The planning, the finishing or somewhere in between?

Gorgeous finish!! My favorite part of quilting is putting those first few blocks together and see the fabric combos come to life. 😊
