Quilty Sisters Bee parcels for Lynda and Tanya

I have been remiss in sharing with you the parcels that I sent off some weeks ago – to Lynda in Australia and Tanya overseas as part of the #quiltysistersinstabee. I still have a few blocks remaining to make and send out before this bee is over, however I love making every parcel in some way special for each of my sweet sisters.

Tanya requested the Stacked Windmills block from the Modern Bee —13 Quilts to Make with Friends book that we have been working from. I enjoyed creating this colourful block for her, and then using it as the inspiration for her parcel.

I included all the same prints from the block in the Triangle Pouch I made for her – using a beautiful cloisonne bead for the zipper pull. Of course, I made her a handmade book, and added in some Australian chocolate, hand stamped tags and an adorable owl keychain.

Lynda received a similar parcel, I can be a little unimaginative at times I’m afraid.

Of course, the theme for Lynda’s parcel was the colour orange – with Tula Pink orange fabric in her Triangle Pouch, orange packet Salted Caramel Timtams and orange in the quilt block I made for her! A music themed keychain, some lollies and another handmade book rounded things out.

Lynda requested the Triple Star block (tutorial HERE) in three different bright colours, one for each star, with a low volume background. Of course, the low volume is a little bit loud which my family would tell you was just perfect for me, I’m a little bit on the loud side myself.

I just love putting a special little bee and beaded pull on to these pouches that I send off. I hope that Lynda finds something special to keep in it.

What sewing adventures are you up to for this coming week? Are you finishing off old projects, or starting new ones?
