April quilting book review – One Wonderful Curve

posted in: Book Review, Quilting, sewing | 0

I am sneaking in at the end of April with this month’s quilting book review and I have a real beauty for you today, One Wonderful Curve 12 Contemporary Quilts. This book is from the team at Sew Kind of Wonderful which is the brainchild behind the Quick Curve Ruler and it’s new baby brother the QCR Mini: Miniature Quick Curve Ruler.

In general I am not a huge fan of “single use” rulers or tools, however when it comes to these guys, I make an exception. Not only do I have a soft spot for some curved piecing, but the quilts in this book are so fresh and fun.

The 12 beautiful projects in this quilt are all unique, but better than that, the technique that is taught can be applied to all of your own curved quilt projects.

Of course, a quilting book is always helped by stunning styling and photography. Not surprising that I love this teal blue door and quilt combination.

The prints and colour in this quilt, Dragon Glass, only highlight the beautiful clamshell effect. It is the simplest way to make this traditional and very striking pattern.

Another feature of the quilt designs included in One Wonderful Curve is the way so many of these have great negative space which means more space for quilting.

The book is full of beautiful closeups of the quilting that has been executed on these projects by the Sew Kind of Wonderful team. There is lots of great quilting inspiration ready for when your beautiful new projects are finished.

I will admit there’s not question of a yes or no from me on this book, my wonderful husband bought it for me earlier this year after I sent him my wishlist. You can pick your own copy up from Amazon HERE.
