Constellations Quilt – on the quilting frame

Wow, I can’t believe that I never showed you this gorgeous quilt! Made through a quilting bee and finished off by the lovely Jenn, I was given free license to have some fun with this quilt, and so I did!

The stars were made using Lizzy House’s Constellations fabric line, so we wanted to play up the “theme” of the quilt, whilst softening the square edges and adding a touch of fun as well.

The chosen quilting design with it’s concentric rings adds a lovely texture to the quilt while still allowing for a lovely snuggly drape.

My choice of design was also driven by my knowledge of my client. She and I had bonded over our mutual love of Marvel comics/movies, so when I saw a quilting pattern that had such a strong resemblance to Captain America’s shield, I had to use it!

The thread we chose was a Wonderfil variegated in all shades of blue from baby blue to royal, which worked so well with this quilt. I was honestly sorry to send this beauty back!
