I thought that today I would show you a little more detail of my very first She Art girl – as displayed on my inspiration wall in my previous post.
I completed THIS Christy Tomlinson class last year. It was eye-opening to play so much with mixed media, something that I hadn’t done for a long time, since I gave up paper scrapbooking. Did you know that I used to paper Scrapbook? I feel like I gave it up a lifetime ago.
I still had many of my supplies, all the good classic ones at least. Stamps, paint, basic papers, lots of ribbon and scraps of fabric. I’m a bowerbird by nature, and I just love to play with art supplies, stationery and fabric toys. So I wasn’t too far behind in the course, although Christy did recommend a lot of stuff that I either couldn’t afford, or couldn’t even source here.
So here is my little lady…..
And some of my favourite details……
I had fun making the background and mixing it up with paint, stencils, rub-ons etc. I love the butterfly in her hair, and the bird in her mind……
I picked up some awesome script stamps, shown here in both ink and paint, for a totally different effect. And I love the lacy flower stamp that I highlighted with pen. And vintage dress pattern pieces worked in so well.
So here is no 1 girl, “She lived with courage.” As my first born, she is staying with me. I have some more to show you that have gone to other homes, as well as the ones I kept.
