Inspiring Artists online

Now, I know that this is going to be a list that is not comprehensive by a long shot. There is just so much amazing art talent out there, that I couldn’t hope to cover them all. Instead, here are a few that are my go-to blogs, for when I’m needing a little injection of art, of colour. A little holiday in what feels like a sea of grey at home…. round 3 of this virus has begun with DS2 going down with it yesterday. These huge incubation periods are totally maddening. I have a Dr’s appt this week, and I’m hoping to get some more clarity on my own current situation, which is not progressing at all presently. So let’s go look at some life and colour, and we will forget all our troubles and get inspired.

Got your suitcase packed? We’re travelling all over the globe today!

First stop, in Australia, is Chrissy Foreman Cranitch. I first discovered her on Etsy, and now I’m a serious stalker. Love her open and raw paintings, how she uses her emotions to shape her work.

An amazing force to be reckoned with is Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. Her tutorials cover so many topics and she is just the best, funnest teacher I’ve seen.

Next we will go to visit Donna Downey. When I grow up, I want to have cool coloured hair like her!! I love her art, her inspiration, and her generosity. She posts a video of an art journalling page EVERY SINGLE WEEK. That’s so much work for her, I can’t even begin to imagine, but it’s like a dose of tonic every time.

Ok, next stop on our tour is Dina Wakley. I know I’ve mentioned Dina before, but she bears repeating, because her art is so full of motion and freedom. I’m very envious of her incredible fluid “scribbly” portraits. I need to take a big step back and loosen up I think.

I couldn’t leave out a visit to Cori Dantini…. whose light and airy whimsical multimedia work is just so perfect. Always good for a pick-me-up.

Let’s stop off finally to visit Michelle S Mathey… who is so much more disciplined than I could ever dream of being, and has such a huge body of art posted on her blog. She creates almost everyday and is never afraid of a challenge and regularly tries things out and mixes them up.

I know that this is a small teeny-weeny sampling of what is out there, and I’d love you to add your suggestions of where you go when you need to get some colour into your life… so link us up!
