Seabreeze Mini Pillow revealed!

posted in: Home decor, Quilting, sewing | 2

So, here is my finally completed Seabreeze Mini Quilt, from the quilt-a-long hosted by Angie over at Gnomeangel. I chose to add some borders and increase the size up for a European pillow instead of a wall mini. Although I may have been led astray by the product measurements because it turned out a little big for the pillow that I bought. But it’s still a seabreeze dream and I love it!

Look, isn’t it gorgeous? Oh, ok, cute puppy in the way…..

There we go….. love the rippling effect of the spiral quilting.

The fabric I used to make the back is a bit of a surprise find in the boxes of, ahem, interesting treasures of my mother’s sewing room I have been digging through. In amongst the offcuts of upholstery fabric, dress sleeves and stained blouses that she would find “something” to do with…. one day. Selvedge information is scanty, but I suspect it is pure cotton. It had a couple of small holes, possibly from storage and a printing mis-mark through the middle of it, but there were still multiple metres of usable fabric. And the darker grey is actually glittery!! I’m contemplating the possibility of using it for a quilt back at some point, if I find the right project, although it’s a little firmer than quilting cotton and not quite what I’d term snuggly. It would certainly be hard-wearing though!

Thanks so much for coming along on this journey with us, I hope you had as much fun as I did. Don’t forget to go over to the reveal post on Gnomeangel’s blog and post your link, or vote for your favourite creation! Voting is open until Wednesday night.

Sensational ! And you need to put a warning on posts with cute puppy alert, having her head cocked just so, adorable! Love the circles you have quilted on the fabric, it’s perfect.

Hehehe that head tilt is a killer isn’t it! I got quite skilled at one puppy, getting both in a shot is still a challenge 😉
