Handcrafted bespoke notebooks

Isn’t bespoke such a lovely word? It conveys so much more meaning… that something was carefully crafted, made to suit an individual, with love and attention. Thanks to Kerry, I couldn’t think of a better way to describe the last batch of notebooks that I made and sent out. Each one had the new owner in mind, was carefully chosen to suit a theme, and covers, papers and ribbons were all chosen to beautifully complement each other.

Whether they are used as notebooks, diaries, quilt journals or just for everyday lists, each book will always be a reminder of the giver, in this case, me!

First up we have the souvenir book that I made for the wonderful Judi Madsen, recently in Adelaide teaching at the AMQF, the machine quilting festival.  I included many special pages, including vintage maps of Australia and Adelaide, Australian animals, antique sheet music and some art work. Inside the cover was a special dedication for her. All wrapped up in a custom made box and a green bow, perfect for the Green Fairy of quilting! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it to the classes this time, but I wanted to give her something that would always remind her of her visit to Adelaide, and to thank her for her generosity in sharing her amazing talents. My friend Julie was able to deliver this for me on her last day here, and she loved it!

Our next group of books were for 2 members (and a daughter) of our #quiltysistersinstabee. Julie, of course, is the original secret squirrel, so she got an adorable squirrel tucked into the back of her book. Kerry’s block was citrus themed, so I made her book as bright and colourful as her finished quilt will be! Brooke’s favourite colour is blue, so I chose papers and ribbons that perfectly matched her two book covers. I especially enjoyed creating the matching packaging and bows, so each parcel was as unique as the book inside it.

As you can see, I put a lot of time and thought into creating these books, to make them truly special, one of a kind gifts.
If you are interested in purchasing one, there are several ready made available in my shop HERE, or you can contact me to order a custom made book.

They are just the best gift, and I love tailoring them to suit the recipient. I made a going away one for a workmate of DH, with papers that were quite meaningful to him. He was completely blown away.

Yes, you can put any kind of paper in that you want! I mostly put quality Art journal paper in, but I love to mix it up with some vintage paper or decorative scrapbooking type paper as well.
