Australian Machine Quilting Festival 2014

Earlier this month I was very excited to meet Julie from Heritage Keepsakes. She and her husband were in Adelaide for the AMQF. Although I didn’t make it to any classes, I did have a fun afternoon wandering around the quilt exhibition and the vendor hall.

The highlight of the day, after meeting and hanging out with the awesome quilty peeps, was getting to play on the different longarm quilting machines. Gammill, APQS, Handiquilter and A1 Elite.

Of course, no wrap-up would be complete without sharing my loot!

Edited-1902Of course, the Quilting Wide Open Spaces book from Judi Madsen, previously shared here. Also a book of pantograph patterns, a Thread Pic which Julie swears I will love. Sewline glue pen to try out glue-basting, Magic Bobbin Washers for Freemotion Quilting on my Janome. Finally a spool of Glide thread, to also try with quilting. Although if I had realised how much and how cheap it was, I would have bought one in every colour!

Finally, I couldn’t resist a Jelly Roll of the new line from Lauren and Jessi Jung, Pedal Pushers. You will remember these designers from my Plus Quilt. They create the most beautiful and intricate designs in lovely fresh colour palettes. I’m already looking for the perfect pattern to showcase this roll.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable time, and I will be certainly rectifying the omission of classes next time. See you all in 2 years!

 Happy Crafting - Cassie.

It was great to meet you too! We will have to book it in for the next AMQF, unless maybe I make it to Melbourne next year 😀
