Quilting studio renovation – Week 4

I just can’t believe that it’s been a month already since this exciting ride started. The end is in sight and the studio is definitely taking shape now.

We inherited this sign with the property, and I’m certainly keeping it. I think that it will be rather appropriate once I fit everything in!

This week was all about power and walls!! The electrician came and wired up all the many power points and lights – one in the sewing room and two in the longarm lair.  Then we had a delivery of gyprock, all ready to make some rooms.

Sadly our builder came down on Friday with a really bad virus, so I’m not sure if or when he will be back this week, but before he left, he got almost all of the walls finished – the remaining wall is a two man job, as well as the ceiling which requires specific lifting equipment.

Once the gyprock is finished, it will be our turn to paint the ceilngs and walls and lay the floor, then it’s just the finishing touches of carpentry and installing the lights and power before it’s time for us to start moving in!

love the sign – all quilting studios should have one !! so close now but sad about the builder – hope he recovers soon so he can finish – love that sliding door too 🙂

Thanks Leanne – maybe the sign will convince the men of the house to leave my fabric scissors alone! 😉 The sliding door is my favourite part. He’s not back yet, I think he’s really crook. I don’t want him to rush back if he’s not better though.
