Are you ready for the third instalment in my other English Paper Piecing project… which is chock FULL of FUSSY CUTTING!! If you missed out, my fussy cutting tutorial for EPP can be found HERE and the tips and tricks that I used for placing the templates are exactly the same as I used for these blocks. I am still working through each month of templates, taking my time and having a LOT of fun learning how to align fabric and playing with pattern, colour and contrast.
Here are 2 beautiful month’s instalments – with a square and rectangle shape. I love opening up each pack, arranging different colours together and looking at all the fussy cutting possibilities.
Two more months, these ones with a tumbler and 6-pointed star shape. This fabric selection is much brighter than the previous one, and I can see lots of fun options there.
Here are the five latest blocks I have completed. It is taking me much longer to finish each one due to the extreme fussy cutting that I seem to be obsessed with. Each block can take a couple of hours just to cut out and baste, just making all the joins perfect.
I mean, who seriously joins up a rainbow like the block above? Me apparently. And the perfectly mitred stripes on the grey block make me very happy.
When creating the adorable strawberry block, I even ensured that I alternated each floral print, highlighting a flower and a strawberry around the pinwheel. And of course, the stripes are perfectly straight. That was an easy one!
