This is just the perfect handmade touch to add to a present…. a simply made but gorgeous paper pieced pouch. I’ve made a few of these now, and I think this is my favourite so far.
It’s a generous size, to fit all sorts of goodies in. The lining is light in colour, so that you can easily see and find things inside. That’s the best trick I ever learnt handbag shopping…. avoid a black lining! I used the general pouch instructions from one of the projects in the Vintage Quilt Revival book.
It was my first time using little tabs to cover the ends of the zipper and it worked really well. Of course, who doesn’t love a little buzzy bee charm as well?
The back was a different toning fabric, and all this and more fit perfectly inside.
Just love this Confetti Star Block ….. a free pattern from During Quiet Time, available on Craftsy HERE. Made in all Citrus colours, to match Kerry’s #quiltysistersinstabee block.
Just to prove that you can piece scraps into your paper piecing…. almost invisible seams in the white background fabric. I loved quilting this too….. teeny tiny little paisleys/clams all curling around each other and filling the negative space with texture. It was really quick and easy to free motion quilt, but the result is so effective!
