So, this past week I was absolutely stoked to finally get to meet the amazing Sharon in person, due to her making a quick jaunt to Adelaide. It’s been a long time since we first “met” through digital scrapbooking, nearly 10 years we worked out, but it seems like we’ve always known each other. We have gotten to see each other’s children grow up (hers are older than mine) and our lives change in so many ways. *skip* took the day off to play chauffeur, so that my head would last the distance, which turned out to be perfect when picture taking time came.
We showed Sharon around some of our beautiful hills, slightly waterlogged after 5 days of solid rain, but she brought the sunshine with her and we had a marvellous time poking around shops and catching up on all the news. She was lucky enough to get a tour of the house, and fell for the keeshond’s charming ways. Finally we wound the trip up with a visit to the local wetlands, site of many gorgeous photographs and a beautiful place to wander for an hour or so.
So, totally inspired by our chat and playing the reminiscing game, I decided that I would scrapbook a photo of her visit to always treasure it. Then the new Shabby Princess kit hit my email inbox and a couple of hours later, a layout was born… Apparently I do remember how to do this after all!
You can see her layout, with the picture from her phone HERE. I always love seeing the take that 2 different scrapbookers might put on the same photo… it’s a great way to see how individual this hobby can be!
So, next on the agenda is to work out some holiday plans so we can do it all again on her side of the country. Where I hear the quilting shops are like paradise – I think I will take an empty suitcase for that trip!
