Our wonderful #quiltysistersinstabee continues on. As I was heading off to Melbourne last week, I met up with Kerry, and she surprised me with a marvellous parcel of cleverly thought out gifts.
My bee block, of course, was included….
Doesn’t this red and orange combination absolutely glow!
Also included was this adorable frame…. Yes I have turned into the crazy dog lady. But that’s ok with me.
She tucked in a little owl keychain, as well as some fabulous Tula Pink fabric we were swapping for our Swoon quilts. There was also a bag of dog treats, but that is well and truly in possession of the puppies!
Her crowning glory though, was this amazing owl. It’s more than a stuffed toy, it’s a fabric sculpture! She used an idea from the internet and made up her own pattern to work with the fabric she wanted to use, and what a magnificent result!
I don’t know which of the details I love more… the little bee charm tucked away onto the feathers, the fussy cut eyes and mouth….
Or her beautiful pattern placement of the Tula Pink print on the wings and tail.
Kerry, you have truly out-done yourself with this beauty! He has pride of place on the bookshelf in my studio now, this is one treasure I’m not sharing with the dogs!

I really love that block. I might have to make it in a six inch size for my simple six inch block sew along on Instagram….and that owl…oh, my, gosh. It is super cute.

Isn’t the owl amazing! I’d be interested in seeing what you do with that block, the pieces will be pretty tiny!
