I wanted to share with you this beautiful little quilted wall hanging I just took off the quilt frame.
Quilted for my friend Jess, it’s got two layers of Cotton/poly batting to give it a bit of puff and some weight for hanging on the wall.
Jess chose a beautiful digital pantograph, Champagne Bubbles. The gentle overlapping curves and circles give the perfect amount of movement to a very geometric quilt design.
Didn’t Jess do an amazing job piecing it? To give you a bit of perspective, the whole quilt is just over 32″ square. The thread we chose was a Wonderfil Tutti variegated in smokey blues, which just highlights the quilting without overpowering the fabrics.
The backing Jess supplied was a simple Rosalie Quinlan print, which although plain, still doesn’t show up the quilting too much, so you’ll have to take my word for the texture. It’s delicious enough that I’m definitely planning to double batt one of my quilts soon! The bobbin thread was a light grey Deco-Bob, also from Wonderfil.
This is a really versatile pantograph which you could quilt on everything from a very modern quit, baby quilt or as this piece shows, a much more traditionally pieced quilt too. Jess is already planning what quilt she can have it on next!
This is an advanced pantograph starting at $4 per square foot. To enquire about having it on your quilt, please email me, or you can see further quilting ideas at Juicy Quilting
