Anniversary day report :)

So, *skip* came home early from work, and I had prepared a sumptuous bbq feast, which included sausages, Mince patties and marinated chicken. Yum. So we cooked dinner, ate, cleaned up and then prepared for the main event….

Here is a before photo πŸ™‚

I later discovered there was a box missing from this pile, but that was just part of *skip’s* evil plan…. Also, it’s not apparent that there are multiple gifts inside some of those wrappers.

The boys loved their gifts, and Andrew was totally blown away by what I bought him, as well as the boy’s present to him as well. From the boys, and *skip* of course, I got a new foot spa, some gorgeous special soap, a new perfume, and a couple of magazine subscriptions. That was more than enough, and inside the budget that we had set, but then, of course, he went and got the last box.

When I tore the wrapping paper off, it was a new shredder. A new shredder that looked just like the one I bought a month ago. I was a little puzzled, so I opened the box and inside I had a very special present.

SHREDDED PAPER

The paper was padding a new Mac Mini. But hang on, I already have one of those, why do I need a second one?

So I opened the Mac box, and suddenly forgot how to breathe….

This is well and truly NOT in the gift budget. It also weighs a ton and is the sweetest lens you ever did see. Wow.

So I am well and truly spoilt rotten by my family. Love them to bits.

Here is the aftermath photo… the only thing I can see missing is my perfume bottle.

Sadly, any plans I had for taking my new lens out today have been spoilt by unbelievably hot weather (over 41 degrees C) and Sam just deciding out of the blue to run a 38.6degree fever in the middle of the afternoon. I gave him some Nurofen, and it’s come down well, but I was a bit worried for a minute there. Quite a few of our friends have had a rather spectacular gastro bug and I was sure we’d ducked it… then again, maybe not.

So now I’m going to go be Mum, and cook dinner. It’s still SO hot, even at 6pm, can’t wait for it to cool down a little and open up the house. Meanwhile, I’ll leave you with a shot from my new baby. She’s pretty sharp and all….

Wow Cass! I love that you incorporate the kids in your anniversary celebration, we might have to start doing that too. What a stinker your husband is with the wrapping, how funny. Have fun with that lens!!
