So, I’ve left you hanging long enough. Time to introduce you to my new baby, Winnie.
After much wishing, dreaming, planning and a couple of false starts, she came up for sale across the country and we just couldn’t let another opportunity pass by!
I was really hoping to show her to you all set up and ready for action, however she came along before we were ready with her new forever home, so she is carefully enthroned in the lounge room for the time being. She is complete with the HQ Prostitcher, so fully computer operated for all pantographs/all over patterns, but I am most excited about doing a lot of custom quilting with her too.
After a bit of too-ing and fro-ing, with some major changes happening in our lives at the same time as moving to our new house, we have chosen to renovate the two rooms in our enormous shed to accomodate her. The first room started worse than this (imagine layers of carpet, a rough built in desk and lots of grime). We initially repainted it, however then discovered that the work needed to be more extensive than just a lick of paint and some fresh flooring.
Here is *skip* ripping out the floor from the future sewing room. But I guess you’d really like to see the quilting studio, right?
It’s a shame we don’t have any before photos of the studio, it was in such bad shape that we didn’t bother. Full of random built in pieces of furniture, unfinished walls, exposed beams and lots of dirt. There was even some scorch marks behind some of the cupboards. What stories this room could tell!
However in the near future it will have fresh everything, including floors, new lighting, a laminate timber floor and a glorious big sliding door to the outside world. I can’t wait to set Winnie up and make a lot of beautiful quilts in here!
And just a teaser for the journey which is to come…..
I am so happy that you are here with me on this adventure!

Cassandra
Thanks Jess! I’m very much looking forward to introducing the two of you. It would be great if you were down when it was time to move in ๐
Fiona
Well you kept that secret well! Crikey! Computerised too!
Cassandra
The computer was a huge bonus. It was always on the “one day it would be nice to add” list, but this was just too good to pass up!
Norma
Can’t wait to see the final reveal! How exciting to have a new member of the “family!” ๐
Cassandra
Thanks Norma. She’s a lucky girl, having a special studio all built just for her ๐
Melissa (minniecat)
I was curious. Are Coco and Willow’s Board of Directors chairs being moved to the new studio?
Cassandra
No, they are staying in the lounge room. I will have to be on the lookout for a couple of tiny comfy armchairs for them in the studio fitout ๐
